About This Tour
Yuntai Mountain (Yuntai Shan) is a UNESCO Global Geopark in northern Henan, 90km from Luoyang and one of the most photographed natural landscapes in central China. Highlights: Red Stone Gorge (Hongshi Xia) — vermillion sandstone canyon with green pools; Tan Pu Gorge with 314m of cascading waterfalls; Macaque Valley with wild Tibetan macaques. The park has three main sections accessible by shuttle bus (included). Hiking is moderate, mostly stairs and elevated walkways, ~5-6 hours of walking total. Different angle from existing Luoyang tours which all focus on Longmen/Shaolin/temples — this is pure scenic landscape. Round-trip Luoyang-Yuntai transfer 3.5 hours total. Private vehicle, guide, entrance + shuttle ticket included.
